Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a Union Territory of India, located in the Bay of Bengal, known for its archipelagic geography, tropical forests, rich biodiversity, coral reefs, and strategic maritime importance. The islands were historically used as a colonial penal settlement and later became a Union Territory of India in 1956. The region consists of two main groups of islands — Andaman Islands and Nicobar Islands.

According to the Census of India 2011, Andaman and Nicobar Islands had a total population of 380,581. Under the 2011 Census administrative structure, the Union Territory had:

• Total Urban Areas: 1
